What we're about

Ok, we'll be honest. When we first dreamt up the idea to travel by motorbike from Vladivostok to London, we weren't thinking about helping others. We just wanted to have a blimmin' great adventure.

Things didn't stay that way for long. We soon realised that a trip on this scale could be used not just as a challenge of epic proportions, but also as an opportunity to learn more about the world and interact with people from different backgrounds and cultures, including those less fortunate than us - orphans, refugees, homeless.

Then we figured: it would be a shame to stop there. Visiting orphanages and refugee camps might extend our own personal horizons, even challenge us to the core, but for those that we meet, we'd just be a fleeting visit. Why not take the chance to actually make a difference somewhere?

We didn't want to help a large corporate charity. These organisations are great, don't get us wrong. It's just that we wanted to help a small, grass-roots place, the sort where our help could make a massive impact. Rob G had spent some time in Siberia already, and had been introduced to a world of street kids and orphans by a man who, every day, fed the children at a local restaurant. Seeing the love and humility of a wealthy individual who was willing to crawl through sewers to reach out to these kids blew Rob G's mind. The impact that man has had on the lives of the street kids in that small Siberian town is revolutionary.

We stumbled on Living Hope by accident. But, meeting Rachael Hughes, and learning about her love and passion for the street kids of Vladivostok, we knew this was the cause that our trip was made to support.
