Arrival in South Korea
After a teary farewell (not ours of course) we left Auckland Airport at 8.30am on Friday 16 April. All of the families were there to see us off, and the video camera was rolling.
We waited on the plane for more than an hour for take off, but finally made it airborne and enjoyed a few NZ beers. It was a really rushed connection in Tokyo to our flight to Seoul, but with airport staff sprinting ahead of us we made good time and hit the connecting flight.
Into Seoul we navigated our way along the cold streets to our hostel. Fantastic party atmosphere and interesting bar names made for a cool introduction to the city.
